Michael Alcock began his publishing career at Oxford University Press, and was publishing director at Macmillan, Aurum Press and Boxtree before founding his own literary agency in 1997.

Michael's client list covers general fiction, and non-fiction mainly in the fields of history and biography, current affairs, memoir, journalism, lifestyle and culture.

Andrew Hewson left theatre management to become John Johnson’s assistant in January 1969. He acquired the agency on John’s retirement, and he and his wife continued to run it independently from their offices in Clerkenwell for over thirty years. The agency merged with Michael Alcock Management in 2003.

Andrew’s clients include novelists, biographers, historians and poets, and he deals with the majority of the agency’s estates.

Anna Power joined the agency in 2001. Her interests include literary and well-written commercial fiction, and general non-fiction, with particular focus on history and popular culture. She is also currently developing Johnson & Alcock's children's list.

Anna was secretary of the Association of Author's Agents from 2004 to 2006.

Ed Wilson first came to the agency as an intern, before heading off to test the waters of different publishing houses around London. He returned to Johnson & Alcock in 2007.

His interests include literary and post-modern fiction, sports, popular culture, film and music writing, and graphic novels. He is also the Johnson & Alcock webmaster, so any corrections and/or clarifications should be addressed to him.
