Gillian Riley is an addiction counsellor and writer. She ran the successful Full Stop courses on stopping smoking until 1997, and has since worked on the Eating Less seminars, which deal with overeating issues. After a number of years in America, she returned to London in the 1980s and has been teaching and leading seminars in the UK ever since. In addition to her private client work, Gillian has a residency at the world-renowned health retreat Ragdale Hall.
Gillian adapted her Full Stop course as a book, How to Stop Smoking and Stay Stopped for Good (1992; updated 2007), which is widely used in NHS smoking clinics. She went on to develop a book version of her Eating Less seminars, and the most recent edition of Eating Less: Say Goodbye to Overeating was published in 2005. She is a regular guest on television and radio, including appearances on the BBC, ITV, GMTV, Talk Radio and the BBC World Service. Gillian lives in Leicestershire and teaches throughout the UK and Ireland.
