Gail Robinson is a Canadian novelist, radio broadcaster and poet, called “a beautiful writer” by The Irish Times. Her two books of children’s stories, Coyote the Trickster and Raven the Trickster, are retellings of North American Indian myths, and stories from them have been anthologised and reproduced internationally. Gail has contributed to journals in Canada and Britain, and has both presented and written on programmes broadcast on the CBC and BBC radio networks. She has also recently featured on BBC Radio 4’s Views of Empire programme.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Gail currently divides her time between London and Saskatoon. Her most recent work is God of the Plains, published by Coteau Books in Canada, which Fay Weldon described as “a grand visionary sweep linked with an exquisite eye for domestic detail… a narrative excitement in every sentence – Gail Robinson has written a book in the great tradition”. Her work has been reviewed throughout the English-speaking world, and she is currently working on a new novel.
