Wright, Trevor PDF Print E-mail
Trevor Wright is a Midlands-based author and playwright, and has recently retired from teaching. He has worked as a petrol pump attendant, barman, waiter, and drummer in a rhythm-and-blues band, and successfully juggled his duties in school with his writing for many years.

The author of two novels and a successful textbook, his first book was The Shifting Pier (1989), a sinister and memorable novel in the tradition of the ghost stories of M. R. James and L. P. Hartley, which has been compared to Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw. This book was followed some years later by Going Under (1996), and Trevor is also the author of How to Be a Brilliant English Teacher (2005), a hugely popular guide for both new and experienced teachers. He has also had short stories published, and a number of his plays have been broadcast on BBC radio. He lives in Worcestershire, and is currently putting the finishing touches to a new novel and a children’s book.
