Tamsin Blanchard is a journalist and author, specialising in fashion and design. She attended the Fashion Communication & Promotion degree at Central Saint Martins and in 1998 launched, published and co-edited IT, a limited edition fashion and visual arts bi-annual magazine. She started working as a fashion editor at The Independent, became the Observer Style Editor in 1999 and in 2005 moved on to become Style Director at the Daily Telegraph Magazine. As the V&A Magazine’s fashion correspondent, she regularly writes features, and she is also a contributing editor to 10 Magazine. She has been invited to teach fashion students at University of Westminster, as well as the MA Fashion Journalism degree at Central Saint Martins.
Her books include Dressing Diana (1998) with Tim Graham, The Shoe: Best Foot Forward (2000), Fashion and Graphics (2003), and the popular Habitat book Love Your Home (2004). She has also written the cutting edge eco-fashion book Green is the New Black, published in 2007 with a foreword by supermodel Lily Cole. Perfectly predicting and aligning with the eco-awareness of the day, the book proved very popular in hardback, and the paperback is due out late Spring 2008. Tamsin lives in East London.
