As both an actress and an author, Judy Cornwell career has spanned over 50 years. She began her theatrical career as a dancer and singer in pantomime, revue, vaudeville, cabaret and musicals. She has played leading roles in the West End and with some of the country’s most eminent repertory companies, including the RSC. Since then she has worked in a broad spectrum of media, including radio, voiceovers, and acting work in films both for cinema and television. On the big screen, she has acted opposite such luminaries as Audrey Hepburn, Peter O’Toole, Marty Feldman and Dudley Moore. These days, Judy is best known internationally for playing Daisy in the long-running BBC sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.
Judy has written several novels, including Cow and Cow Parsley (1985), Fishcakes at the Ritz (1989), The Seventh Sunrise (1994), and Fear and Favour (1996), and is currently working on her fifth. Judy's autobiography, Adventures of a Jelly Baby, was also published in 2006.
