Dr Yehudi Gordon is one of the UK’s foremost gynaecologists and obstetricians, and is the founder of Viveka, a family health and fertility clinic in North London. South African-born, he has broken new ground in gynaecology and pregnancy, and as a pioneer of active and water birth as well as integrated care has changed the face of obstetrics in the UK. He set up the birth unit at the Hospital of St. John and St. Elizabeth, where he also works as a consultant obstetrician.
He has written and co-written a number of books, including Encyclopaedia of Pregnancy and Birth (1987), Water Birth (1990), Journey into Parenthood (1999) and the definitive Birth and Beyond (2002). His books are constantly being updated and appear in new editions. His latest book is the definitive A-Z of Mother and Baby Health (2007) co-written with Harriet Sharkey, Dr Andy Raffles and Felicity Fine.
